Normally Google should only match the pages and blogposts with your Google+ profile when the url was found inside the content (sour code). When the Google+ Link was not found inside the content Google cannot match the content with a profile.

Do you have a example where Google matches a wrong page or post?

This issue was strange and I was unable to find a fix.

Author mark-up code was added to each of our wordpress users author pages on our blog. Example: https://www.zeta.net/how-to-build-a-successful-brand-even-if-people-hate-your-product/

All but one of the user profile linked correctly and worked in google search

One user profile caused an issue where by all pages across the entire domain linked with his google plus profile. Pages which did not have the mark up code on for example the root domain started appearing in search with the user profile linked.

I had no option but to remove the link back to zeta.net from the about sections on the problem g+ profile, this in turn fixed the issue.

All other wordpress users which have been linked to g+ are currently working as expected.

I will add the link back into the problem profile and try to recreate the issue and report back.

I said the mark-up was applied to the author pages but I should of said the mark-up code was applied to the authors text in the right hand column box on each of the blog posts.

Maybe the link is already back in his profile?

I can now show you an example of the author tag appearing on a non verified page in search:

I have removed the link back to Zeta from my g+ profile to prevent any further pages being linked again so I hope you can see this before it gets re indexed.
