Hey there, im having problems with this plugin.
In the options area, it says:
    # The last run didn’t finish! Maybe you can raise the memory or time limit for PHP scripts. Learn more
    # The last known memory usage of the script was 12.5MB, the limit of your server is 32M.
    # The last known execution time of the script was 13.12 seconds, the limit of your server is 30 seconds.
    # The script stopped around post number 32 (+/- 100)

When i run the script it gives me a blank page and only half of the WordPress option items is shown (like ‘General, read, write, reactions, privacy’, instead of ‘General, read, write, reactions, privacy, permalinks, All in One SEO, EventCalendar,Recent Comments, XML-sitemap’ etc.) I played around with memory usage and execution time but those won’t work.

I did figure out though that the problem seems to be that the script doesnt put </urlset> at the end. If i do so manually it’s all fine. But i wan’t it to work by itself! Any idea’s?

    Someone?

I’m having the same issue with and 2.7RC1.
Strangely enough it works fine in 2.6.5.

Maybe a plugin conflict, will test that…

This issue has been around for a while and the plugin does not get updated with bugfixes. I’m afraid this plugin is dead.

Can you try to rebuild the sitemap via the debug function from the admin screen and watch out for any errors or warnings?

The plugin is not dead, I’m just in China at the moment and don’t have much time to go online or do some development…

    Hi

I’m having the same problem here on one site with WP 2.6 AND 2.7. The plugin does seem to get all my posts. If I manually add </urlset> the XML file is fine. Memory limit is also 32M and time limit is 30. PHP version is 5.2.3. Both sitemap files have 0777 permissions.

On another site with the same hoster I don’t have this problem, although this is with WP 2.6.5 and PHP 5.2.6

If I look at the debug info, the faulty site ends with [rewrite_rules]…, while the working site goes on with Sitemap Config, etc., apart from quite some differences in the info before that.

Any help would be appreciated and have fun in China ??

    Hi Arne,

Thanks for your support and your great plug in. I’m having the same problem than everybody here (the missing </urlset> tag). In fact the scripts write all my articles in the sitemap and then stop and raise a warning:

Warning: mysql_fetch_object(): 112 is not a valid MySQL result resource in /wp-content/plugins/google-sitemap-generator/sitemap-core.php on line 1891

Except that, everything is fine: the script lasted 0.93 seconds and took 24.47 MB. Let’s me know if you want more details from the debug function.

This sentence is not accurate any more: ‘Please edit wp-db.inc.php in wp-includes and set SAVEQUERIES to true if you want to see the queries.’ There is only a wp-db.php file in the wp-includes directory and there is not variable called SAVEQUERIES .

BTW, I’m also located in Chine, where are precisely?

I have the same problem and emailed Arne about it. But I understand now he is in China at the moment. Probably on a break… I started a thread some time ago about it. Happy to see I am not the only one. Hope this will be solved somehow. I have to add the missing </urlset> as well and the building never finished properly despite plenty of memory and execution time.

    same problem reported from Rhand
    please fix it fast.

    then???

    Hey all,

Thanks for the feedback! The plugin uses a special mode to access the database (unbuffered query) to save memory. Unfortunately if another plugin makes a MySQL Query during the sitemap process, maybe depending on a special hook/action/filter, and does NOT use the WordPress DB API, it might break the sitemap plugin connection and you can end in an error like this:

Warning: mysql_fetch_object(): 112 is not a valid MySQL result resource

You can workaround this by enabling the MySQL standard mode on the sitemap admin page. You could also try to find out which plugin causes this issue by temporarily disabling them.

If this doesn’t help, I can’t really help you via this forum. If you want, contact me via email and maybe I can have a look at your WP installation and do some debugging on your server.

BTW, I’m here directly in Beijing ??

    Thanks a lot,

I changed the MySQL mode to standard and it fixed my problem, I regenerated the sitemap manually and it worked! But it was probably more related to my hosting than another WP plugin.

I’am also in Beijing since more than one year now.

I just did that and it worked! Thanks for the tip Arnee!!
