[Plugin: Google XML Sitemaps] Plugin: Google XML Sitemap, File size & Parent Site Indexing

  • I have a question which I would be grateful if someone could answer. My WordPress blog is in a folder at the root of a parent site. The parent site is industrial (about 150 pages) and the normal sitemap for this site that I create using an xml sitemap generator is generally about 13kb and takes up 421 lines when viewed in Dreamweaver. The sitemap generated by this plugin when viewed in Dreamweaver takes up only 500 lines of similar url type references yet the file size is 14mb. What’s up with that? Why so much memory usage?
