    Hi Guys,

    I have an old version of EM Version 5.6.2 and it got broken, if I update it I will lose all the customisations my developer made to fit my theme and it was a lot of time and money invested.

    If I recover it from my backup files, will it still work with the latest WP? Does anyone have experience with this kind of situations?

    I really don`t know what to do. Im not a developer.

    Thank you,
    El

  • Hi El,
    To be honest, if your developer made customizations that get lost when updating, he probably could’ve done his job a bit better ?? Events Manager allows a lot of hooks and filters that create a safe entrance into their code, keeping it update-proof.

    For your back-up:
    I can’t remember if 5.6.2 was before the timezone support was added. If so, it could be that it won’t work anymore as some sql tables were changed then.

    Best thing to do for now, is create a new back-up of your broken customized version. Then try to back up the older back-up.

    In addition, I could have a quick look at your customized code, if you’d like, to see if they can be changed to safe ones.

    I don`t know, Who else has experience with it?

    Thank you,

    @tim / @angelo / @marcus,

    I am got in contact with Elena outside of the forum, currently. Since this requires a lot of custom coding, it’s outside of the standard EM Support scope. ??
