[Plugin: gPress] Adding plugin to plugins directory renders 500 erors

I wanted to install “gpress” and uploaded it to my plugins directory. However, as soon as I do so, my backend gives me 500 errors no matter what I try to do. I never even was able to activate the plugin, but as soon as i took it out of the plugins directory everything worked fine again. Has this ever happened to anyone else with any plugin?
