• Has this question been answered? Does a visitor have to register before completing a form for progress to be saved?

Hey Simon I believe that the answer is yes to your question, logging in is required ??

So to log in, the Gravity Forms User Registration add-on is required? how does this integrate?

Hey Scott, no extra plugins required. Just use gravity forms, and this persistence plugin. Then under your form’s advanced settings enable the persistence checkbox + the logged on users required. Cheers

Thank you so much for your help. Users don’t log in to our site, so do they log in to Persistence?

Yes, it was the same with mine; I just told them that the form saves their work so they’ll need to register.

In fact, when you set it up you can ask your users to register if their not logged in.

It’s the not logged in info box. So be like “register and login to begin”

Sorry to keep asking questions, but I haven’t set up a login before. I installed Persistence, went in to an existing form I’m working on and checked the box “Enable Form Persistence” and updated form settings. When I go back in to make sure, the box is no longer checked. When I run the form, no login or registration prompt comes up. I see no documentation in the plugin covering this. What am I doing wrong? Thank you again.

You’ll need to check both enable persistence AND logged in required.

Then in your HTML box “Require Login Message” you could say ‘please register to save your progress etc’.

Please Register to fill out our Form; this will only take a minute and will enable you to save your progress within our application process.

    Register

Also all the options in gravity forms have a question mark you can read.

OK. First, there is no “Advanced Settings” tab, only “Form Settings” (I think have the current version because I downloaded it only a few days ago). In the Form Settings tab I checked “Require User to be Logged In” and in the Require Login Message box I put “Please Register to fill out our form. This will only take a minute and will enable you to save your progress within our application process.” I did not put a link like you have in your example – will that log them into WordPress or just Gravity Forms?

Also, the “Enable Form Persistence” box will not remain checked when I click “Update Form Settings,” even after the page containing the form is published.

    Thank you very much again.

Logging in would be handled by WordPress; not Gravity Forms. I would use a link similar to that one.

Not sure about the checkbox not saving. I would ask the plugin guys.

i am having the same exact problem as scott, any help would be greatly appreciated
