• I have installed the “Grou Random Image Widget” in a WP 3.0.1 Multisite environment and activated it for a single Site. After integration and adaption of the widget-element and copying images to a new subdir i get an error message on the position of the website where the images should be shown: “Error Loading /wp-content/plugins/grou-random-image-widget/festplakate/plakat01.png”. The directory is right and interestingly the image name “plakat01.png” is detected correctly.
Looks like an rights problem – but all users have read access to the directory and images.
    Any idea?

  • I’ve getting the same Problem with 3.0.1 .

Everything works, except the SlideShow without (!) the “Picture aspect” checked. Everytime i check the Picture aspect it works fine, but without it, it won’t. I’ve searched the php for anything related, and also granted full access for the directory (reading/writing) to test it out. But nothing helped yet.

As Ralph I first came to an rights conclusion, but it don’t solved the Error message.

I think i need support on this.

RalphGL: I don’t have a clue of what is going on. The error message tell me that either the image is not in a correct format (corrupted) or the file is not found. I guest you already check your imae so it must be option 2. The interresting thing you saisis “mulisite environment”. I didn’t test my pluging this configuration so I think it doesn’t work.
I don’t know how multisite works exactly but I guest it play with path (ie / is not the root directory of your web-server. I’ll try it with multisite and tell you what I found later.

The picture aspect use Gd lib that should be available with most php but maybe it’s not the case. can you check that ?

g.anshul: both websites seems Ok for me. I need a non-working website to investigate.
    Grou

Hello Grou. The websites work because I unchecked the picture aspect ratio. Please tell me the exact time you will take a look and then I can check the picture aspect ratio so that you can see the error. I cant wait for you to check them and keep an error on my website. That is bad for business. So I would need a time and day.

I wonder if it’s not a rigth acces problem.
It looks like nobody can acces the wp-content/plugins/grou-random-image-widget/preview.php file that compute the image.

Can you try to open acces to this file (may be with a .htaccess file) ?

sorry Grou – – you can check out the non-working site here: https://hscnursingalumnae.org/
I’ll leave it live until you let me know if you spotted anything… ok?

    thanks!
    David

    – followup:
I know the images work, as the only difference between ‘working’ and what you see now (the error message) is turning on the picture aspect option, using the default settings…

    thanks
    David

The file permissions are 644 for preview.php as they are for everything else. It should be able to access that file.

I don’t think that might be the issue. If it is then please suggest the file permission codes you want me to set for it.

any further thoughts? or should I restore it to the partially working condition until the next update…?
    thanks

    drhoare,
I think I finally found it.
Some variable that where not setup properly in preview.php made your version of php (don’t know witch one it is) issue some warning just before the image preview was generated witch was causing a corrupted image.
I think version 1.16 is fixing that problem.

    Grou

    Hello Grou,

I just upgraded to the 1.16 and the problem is still there. Whenever I turn the picture aspect ratio the pictures disappear.

    I love your Grou plugin.

Strange problem – the images in this slideshow sometimes drop down, or pop up, during the transition fade.

    How can I fix this?

    See https://www.hollinmeadowspartnership.org

It seems to be random after the first cycle through 3 images….

    What could it be?
