On the WordPress sites that I have updated to version 3.2 when I try to insert or edit a Grunion Form from the Media Bar I can add and edit fields but when I go to “add the form to my post” I get a page in google Chrome that says: “oh snap, something went wrong” or something like that. This message will display on every tab that is opened to the domain where wordpress is installed, tabs with the wordpress dashboard, tabs with the website loaded, tabs with page being edited.

However, I can manually inset a Grunion Form using the shortcodes.

This is happening on all sites I have that I have updated to 3.2:

    HEre are a few examples:

    https://www.tandtscaffolding.com.au/

    https://www.aboriginalsteelart.com

Google Analytics was also playing up after the update but they have since released an update and now it is fine. I am surprised that no one has posted this problem.

Thank you very much for a great extension.

    Best regards,
    Dameon

Can you try the -trunk version of Grunion – https://plugins.trac.www.ads-software.com/browser/grunion-contact-form/trunk – I think this is something that got fixed there (the next release will include this).

Thanks. I’ll wait a little longer for the update. I can manually create forms until then.

Has anyone else experienced the bug I described?

Joseph Scott! Your a creater of Akismet! That’s awesome! Thanks for taking the time to answer my post.

To expand on my earlier reply, I have no experience with trunk versions. I a guessing it’s an rc build? I feel better waiting since the problem is manageable.

We try to keep the Grunion code in -trunk usable while we continue development. It is also usually what is running on WordPress.com, so the risk should be pretty small.

No problem if you want to want until the next release. I do recall someone else bringing up the same issue, pretty sure was addressed in -trunk.

    Hi Joseph,

Any word on when the new Grunion release will be available? I still have the same issue.

With regards to the trunk version does it install and uninstall like any other plugin that I upload?

    Thank you!

We are still reviewing items for the next release, so no specific date currently.

If you download the files from -trunk, yes, you can install it just like any other plugin. That is the active development area for Grunion, so just be aware that that is where the current changes are happing.

    Dameon,

I experience the same problem, using WP 3.2.1 ?? I know it works with shortcodes, but it would be great if it would work directly from the editor. I hope there will be a fix soon.

    Cheers

Thanks for your post. I am glad to hear that I am not alone. It’s happening on every WP installation I have. I think I am going to try out the trunk version on a WP test site I have. Any word on the next release Joseph Scott?

Any updates on the new release? Or the status of this bug?

On the off chance anyone else is still having trouble with this issue, I’ve posted an alternate workaround here:

    Thank you for this update!

*Fix for Chrome going ‘oh snap’ when inserting a new contact form.

    Kind regards,
