[Plugin: GYS Themed Categories] Works on Category but not article in that category

    Hi there,

    I’m setting up a new site and trying to get the functionality squared away before fully customizing it. One of my requests is to have a different look for each category and I was led to this plugin.

    You can see it in action thus far here:
    https://www.wspentertainment.com/uncategorized/hello-world/

    Go to Politics and click it, and you will see a new theme. But, if you click either of the two test posts there (I did one before this plugin, then tried another after in case that was the problem; it wasn’t), it reverts back to the default theme for the actual article page.

    What am I doing wrong?

    This plugin definitely picks up on only one category per post, and kind of assumes that you will only have one. Can you try removing “Editorials” from one of your test posts and refresh the post page to confirm?

    Hi Luke,

    I just made a third test post (you can see for yourself) and only assigned it “Politics” and not the sub-category “Editorial.” Doing this retained the specified theme when I went from “Hello World” to Politics on the main menu, and then to the article “Third Test Post.”

    This is great for a solution, but I did like the sub-category idea for the purpose of the drop-down menu (which you can see if you hover over the nav). Any way to make it work for sub-cats, too? Worth a shot to ask…

    EDIT: I just went to the “Editorials” category and changed its default theme to the same as Politics. I then just made a Fourth Test Post and tagged both Editorials (first, even) and then Politics, and published. I repeated the process (“Hello World” article, to Politics on menu, to “Fourth Test Post” article) and was able to see the same theme! So maybe that’s the means of making this work then! ??

    Yep, I think you’ve got it. Where you may get annoyed/stuck is if you write an editorial that belongs to https://www.wspentertainment.com/blog/. If you can avoid that, you are golden. You bring up an interesting use case I hadn’t thought of, and I will try to think on it some more.
