    Hello,

A couple of hours ago I made the mistake of installing a plugin called WP Date Remover (https://en-ca.www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-date-remover/). When I clicked on Activate, my site crashed. It is now completely inaccessible. I keep getting this message:

    “This page isn’t working
https://www.my-site.com is currently unable to handle this request.
    HTTP ERROR 500”

I can’t even access the dashboard to remove the plugin. When I try to log back in to my site, I get the same message as above.

I’ve tried accessing the FTP (if that’s the correct term) through my browser, but got this message:

    “ftp.my-site.com didn’t send any data.
    ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE”

So I downloaded the FTP client Cyberduck and tried accessing it through that. I keep getting the message:

“Connection failed. Connection timed out: connect. The connection attempt was rejected. The server may be down, or your network may not be properly configured.”

I am at a complete loss as to what I should try next. I’m unable to get technical support from the person who set up my site a couple of years ago as he is not available. I haven’t had any problems with my site until now, although this is the first time that I have installed a plugin.

I don’t know which version of WP I’m using. I think it is set to update automatically. The site was built using Elegant Themes but I can’t remember which one specifically.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks

Please contact your host for proper FTP configuration info.

If you have access via a hosting control panel, you could delete the directory wp-content/plugins/wp-date-remover/ to remove the plugin, too.
