Doesn’t work with WP 3.2.1 using either Twenty Ten 1.2 or Twenty Eleven 1.2 themes.

Hi nvg,
Could you please give me some more information? I have tried to replicate the error but it seems to be working fine for me.
I’m using a multi-site setup locally with WordPress 3.2.1 and theme TwentyTen v1.1
N.B. if you are running locally, your site still needs to have access to the Internet because JQuery is referenced from Google’s CDN.
(To correct this issue without enabling Internet access simply download JQuery to your local machine and reference it in the header of your theme.)
Also, when did you download the plugin exactly? (You could try downloading the plugin again.)
Hope this helps.
Kind Regards,
MichaelHi Michael: Oh yeah it’s connected to the internet all right, it’s running on a server on an OC192 backbone ;^) This is a fresh WordPress install on a VPS where there’s other similar installs with other variations of plugins, etc. running with no problems. There’s no other plugins installed on this one, again it’s a fresh install with the default 2011 template on it, linux OS, wp 3.2.1, php 5.2.14, php memory limit 256M, & mysql 5.0.51.
ps: I downloaded the plugin just before I tested it and wrote the first message above…
Hi nvg,
Thank-you for the further information.
Because the plugin works by using JavaScript to access some hidden input fields, via the HTML DOM, I think that the problem could possibly be browser related.
You’ve said your running Linus OS. Which flavor Linux is it exactly?
Also could you tell me which browser you’re using?
Thanks,

Hi i have trouble with this (otherwise great) plugin too. When i browse for images in the medialibrary the show buttons (that opens the imageinfo) wont work. Also this line wp_deregister_script( ‘jquery’ ); broke my fancybox – hence i commented it out.
Im on a unoeuro webhotel with wp 3.2.1–da_DK.
Thanks
Hi Michael,
I installed your plug in (Header Slideshow) several days ago to a brand new wordpress site. It worked fine for a few days, but when my client attempted to look at his site today this is all that appears.
Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /mnt/vhosts/soundsystemhire.com.au/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/header-slideshow/header-slideshow.php:35) in /mnt/vhosts/soundsystemhire.com.au/httpdocs/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 866When I deactivate the plugin, site comes up fine.
Any ideas.
Thanks
PeterMicheal,
I found the header slideshow worked great with Chrome and Firefox, but IE made the webpage load badly. The centered part of the webpage — the part with text and image on a white background — slipped all the way to the left for some reason. In doing that, it also covered up part of an image I had loaded as logo/background at the top of the page.I tried deactivating the plugin, then refreshing the page, which then made the centered part of the webpage move over back to the center where it belongs. Then I reactivated the plug in, and found that refreshing the page made it work great, with everything positioned as I wanted. The problem was that that only worked with refreshing a page where the centered part was already centered. If I didn’t just refresh, but actually closed IE and then reopened it, I found the webpage back with the centered part slipped over to the left.
Not sure why refreshing doesn’t kill the plug in, but closing and reopening IE wrecks it. Actually, the plug in was not “killed” — it still was visible working — but only at the expense of the rest of the page being disarranged. But Firefox and Chrome, no problem. Wish I could make it work on IE.
Same problem on IE.
The Internet Explorer display issue has been resolved in the release of version 1.1. Linux Firefox 64-bit also tested fine.
Thank-you all for your assistance identifying this issue.
N.B. Automatic upgrade may overwrite the default xml file.
If you edited this default file to point your own images you should probably rename it before upgrading to ensure it is NOT overwritten by the automatic upgrade process. After renaming the default xml file then upgrading header slideshow automatically, simply go to the header slideshow admin screen and point it to the renamed xml file.Hello
I understand about replacing images in the URL’s, etc and the settings in the admin area…
I am using a custom template…siteground _ 59
and cannot see its header change
Where do I go to point the TEMPLATE header to the new XML header?
In other words…where do I go to replace the template header with my new header? My site is revinformatics.com
Thank you
CarolynHi Carolyn
Thank you for your question.
I have had a look at configuring a siteground template with the header slideshow and found it to be compatible only by editing the template directly in code, removing the table in div id headimg, and modifying custom.js in header-slideshow/resources line 6 to prepend to headimg.
If that all sounds too complicated and you still want to use the header slideshow please feel free to contact me directly at [email protected]
Kind regards
Michael
