• Hi,

I have been looking for weeks for a solution to this, but cannot find anything. Any article I find points me to icons and banners hosted in the WordPress directory.

I would like to add icons to my plugins, as displayed on the Updates page. I know that they should be saved in the assets folder, but apparently this only works for plugins on WP.org. This is a plugin developed for clients, and as such will not be hosted on WP.org (perhaps on my own server or on a private GitHub repo, accessed with an access token). Is it not possible to get the icons from there? If it is, could someone please advise?

Moved to Everything else WordPress, this is not an Developing with WordPress topic.

If you need help with your hosted on WordPress plugins then you may want to ask in the #pluginreview channel in the WordPress Slack.

To use that channel you need a Slack account. You can obtain one via these instructions.

Edit: Oh. Will not be hosted by WordPress. Moved to Fixing WordPress. It’s still not a Developing with WordPress topic.
