[Plugin: Image Widget] image widget won't allow inserting as thumb nail

The version I just updated to is 3.3.4. Maybe that is the problem? Since updating, when I try to change an image on the sidebar using image widget, it only allows insertion of full-size. Won’t allow me to choose thumbnail (or any other) option. I specifically use this plugin for its thumbnail options! Is there a fix for this?
