    Hello,

    Good day.

Recently i just started experiencing issues when trying to update plugins or to install them.

every time i try a manual update i get a .maintenance file created and will get a Update failed: -1

This is also happening when trying to either manually uploading the new version or when trying to download a new plugin.

Ive reinstalled WordPress 6.1.1 with the same results.

This started happening today (2/23/23) during the wee hours and the day before it was working fine.

My current setup is Worpress on Docker using Alpine Linux.

    Any assistance is much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

    Solution:

This issue is being caused by a bug in the Starter Templates plugin that has now been fixed.

If your site is stuck in maintenance mode, you can fix that by deleting the “.maintenance” file in your main WordPress directory (probably /public_html)

To update to the fixed version of the plugin:

    1. Deactivate the Starter Templates plugin (since it’s breaking the updater)
    2. Update the Starter Templates plugin to 3.1.26 or higher
    3. Reactivate the Starter Templates plugin

Good find… i did delete the .maintenance file and that got it out of the maintenance mode.

then i manually updated the plugins which seemed to work as well.

    Thanks for the findings.. ??
