• Hi Guys,

I’m having a few challenges with the WordPress BigCommerce plugin.

I’ve correctly configured the API account etc and it reports that everything is configured correctly, however the “Build Product List” function does not seem to do anything.

I’ve seen this issue posted in the past but it was apparently resolved and has now re-surfaced again.

Has anybody managed to find a workaround here or is it because BigCommerce have updated/changed their API and the Plugin has not been updated to reflect the changes?

Is there another simple mechanism to easily link a Buy Now button in a WordPress post to add items within a Bigcommerce shopping cart through shortcodes etc?

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

    Chris

  • Hi there Chrism007, just wondering if you found a solution to this problem as I’ve just come across it also.

Would be great to hear from you,
    Thanks,

    Hi Electronix,

Unfortunately not. It would appear that BigCommerce have released a new version of their platform and changed how the XML API works and the developer of the plugin has stopped work / not updated the code to support the changes.

    Hi Chrism007,

I spent quite a few hours trying to get it working, but I ended up just giving up.

I’ll try to contact Big Commerce directly tomorrow and report back here what they say, but I do find it quite disappointing they don’t offer direct word press support.

If this fails, i’m just going to settle for wp e-commerce and see how I do. What CMS system are you using now?

Thanks – will be interested to hear what BigCommerce have to say on the matter, especially since their platform is built around PHP just as WordPress is.

Still havn’t settled on a final solution yet, have been looking around at some WP E-Commerce plugins but havn’t quite found the right fit yet.

Hi Chrism007, this is the response they gave

The problem is we have updated our API from v1 to v2, the plug in has not been updated as it’s last update date is about 4 months prior to our API update. You will need to contact the plug in developer to inquire on any future updates. Many of our WordPress users ad a link to their WordPress site for Store or Shop and mask their BigCommmerce store so that it appears to be running in a sub domain. Here is an article on how to do this.

I found it rather disappointing since there seems to be many other people in our situation, ah well..

I’ll be using WP E-Commerce in the meantime, all the best

    Hi All,

I know this thread is a bit old, but wanted to share with you another option for BigCommerce store owners wanting to link to their products from WordPress:

    https://www.wmmapps.com/bigcommerce-for-wordpress/

This is a new plugin that provides several ways to display your BigCommerce products on your WordPress site.

It offers both a shortcode and a widget which allows you to display your products in a number of formats, plus the ability to style the display using CSS presets or your own custom CSS.

    Thanks for your consideration,
