    Hi!

    I am very interested in the plugin for one of my clients, we were testing it but recently we got a warning from our hosting provider and we are worried about this, could you please help us?

    This is their warning:

    (Important) It looks like your multilanguage plugin is duplicating the complete database for each la
    nguage. That’s a terrible mistake because your database can be 100x larger for something that you don’t really use it. If you get rid of the plugin, let us know to clear the database, otherwise, get more support from their team or find another plugin.

    Hello there,

    Thank you for letting us know about your problem!

    That’s not how the plugin works. We’re not duplicating the entire database. We only create key value pairs from original -> translated for each language. This is by design and doesn’t impact in a significant way the performance and size of your database.

    This is the screenshot of our duplicated database (by Translatepress, according to our hosting provider) . The database had been duplicated more than 10x.

    Hello there,

    There is no code inside Translatepress that duplicates standard WordPress tables. Please do a compatibility test and see if another plugin is responsible.

    To do a compatibility test follow these steps:

    ??*Briefly* disable all other plugins and enable the default Twenty Twenty theme. Please also disable all add-ons. If this fixes the problem, as it probably will, enable everything one by one, checking each time to see when the problem returns.

    Please let us know when you find the conflict so that we can take a look and see what we can do about it.
