I’ve got the same problem on a coupel of sites where new SPAM users are being signed up even though all of the available details are set in the Blacklist settings.

As an example, this “user” registerd with this username:

    chat Patricia and Kathleen https://www.jqwn2.mys***y.com

The IP address that they signed up from is 185.139.70.46.

In the blacklist settings I have thes settings and all options activated:
Enable block by user ID: 185.139.70.46
    Check Spam Words: https://www.jqwn2.mys***y.com, chat
    Blocked TLDs: .mys***y.com

The new user matches the IP address, Spam words and the TLD (which I don’t think is relevant in this case), but they were still able to register.

With all of those settings new SPAM users are still signing up using the same patterns.

Is there something that I’m missing or should I be doing something additional?

  • We’re aware and working on it.

    New update tonight or tomorrow.

Thanks for the reply. I’m looking forward to the update!

    Update coming within the hour.

I have the same issue. On the Stop Spammers Block List I have listed Blocked TLDs as .xyz .info and .site as I am getting many spam registrations using email addresses with these domain TLDs. I have added to the blocked TLD list but still they are able to register. What am I doing wrong?

There was an issue that needed to be fixed, but all is well again.

Make sure to update to version 2021.3.

Nope, not that. Have updated 2021.3 and users are still registering with supposedly blocked TLDs. Perhaps the update today 2021.4 will fix it. Nope, that didn’t do it either.

This is an especially important feature for me personally, and it’s working again for me.

So, we’ll need to drill down on your specific setup to see why it’s not working for you.

    1. Make sure Stop Spammers is fully up-to-date, clear all your caches, and re-save you Block TLDs settings.

    2. What exactly are you entering into the list, and how? Can you share a screenshot? https://imgur.com/

    3. How do people register? Through the default WP forms or a custom login page from a plugin? If the latter, what plugin?

    Thanks
