  • Hello @jillybeans

Please can you provide us with some more details

When you say you are having problems editing Events – at what point does the error occur?

Is it when you have clicked on the Events tab and then select an Event, or is it when you click on the grey rectangular box to Edit an Event’s Properties?

Is it when you try to edit one of the Event Properties, and if so – which one?

If you would be willing to have us log on to an admin account on your site to take a look, that would be really helpful

You could send the URL, User and Password to [email protected]

    Hello @jillybeans

My colleague has passed on the details you sent in your email and I’m a little confused

The title of your Forum Ticket is “Plugin is not working with WordPress 4.2.1 ” – yet when I log on to the site I see it is running version 3.9.5

Was the plugin working OK until you effected a change of some kind?

Did you update something or add a new Plugin?

At what point did you start to get the error?

I have resolved this – for now. The plugin for Open tickets key chain was in conflict!

    Hi Chris,
I need to re-open this ticket.
What I found was, by deactivating the Keychain plugin, the error went away. The problem is the (paid) plugin for multiple pricing does not work without the keychain. Catch 22!
This is now an urgent issue!

    Hello JillyBeans,

I really want to help you resolve this. My role here is to find any potential bugs, like the one you reported, figure out any potential cause of the bug, and resolve it by either making a setting change on the site that is having the problem, or a code change that will resolve the problem. Based on the information provided so far, however, I am not really clear on what is actually being reported as a problem.

What you describe as ‘the output’ in your initial posting, is debugging code. The specific code that you pasted however, does not exist in any of the versions of the plugins that you have currently installed on your site. In fact, I remember removing these specifically, several versions ago. This leads me to believe that perhaps when you updated WordPress to 4.2.1 you may have had an older version of one or more of the OpenTickets plugins, which may have caused the conflict you reported. If this is in fact the case, now that you are complete up to date with our plugins, updating WordPress to 4.2.1 should be smoooth, and should just work now. I would say to try the upgrade again.

Despite that, I have installed each of them on my various dev sites, and activated them in the same manner as you have. In addition, I installed WP 4.2.1. With that, I seem to be able to navigate the admin, specifically the ‘event list page’ and the ‘edit event’ page with ease on each of these dev sites. I can also edit the events completely, adding and removing showings, changing dates and various other settings, without seeing the message you get. Additionally, I conducted a full search of each plugin’s code to track down any lingering debug output, and was able to find no instances in the latest versions.

It is possible that there is in fact a problem that is not related to the out of date plugin scenario I mentioned above; however, without seeing it in action, tracking it down is very difficult. My attempts to get it to happen on my dev environments have been unsuccessful. That seems to indicate that there is only one real option here.

We need you to re-upgrade your site. If everything goes smooth, like I mention above, then great, we are done! But if the problem you reported re-manifests, then we need you to leave it in that state until we can track down the issue, or at least a proper investigation. Using our site to find the issue will greatly increase the speed at which this potential problem is resolved, for you and any potential others that it could be affecting. I can guarantee that whatever parameters are causing this issue, will be resolved once we reach the point where I can see it in action. In the mean time, I await correspondence from you, indicating that your site has been re-upgraded, and what the results of that process were.

P.S. – Just as a note to you, being a paid extension customer, we do have a Help/Service Desk that paying customers get invited to. Since you purchased the GAMP extension, you should be able to access this. I have asked Chris to re-invite you, since it does not seem like you have an account setup there yet. If you create that account, you can report issues like this with the GAMP extension there, since your purchase comes with support for the plugin as well.
