Plugin is Setting Expiration Date on posts by itself

Thanks @rayhollister. We are trying to replicate it but we can’t see the issue anymore on v2.7.1.

Please, could you try cleaning up the browser cache before trying again?

@cranewest Please, does that happen only when you save the post using the post editor? Or does that happen if you try to quick-edit the post?

It happens without any post editing. Posts that have not been touched in quite some time are suddenly set as expired.

One way to help is to use a plugin like this to rollback to an earlier version: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-rollback/. Does this feature work if you go back to a specific version?

A second way to disable other plugins one-by-one to see if that helps. Is there a plugin conflict here?

A third way is to post a screenshot of your “Defaults” and “Post Type” settings.

Sorry, but maybe we were talking about different bugs.
The bug we consider that is fixed (according to our tests) is related to the UI, where the checkbox to expire posts was always enabled.

If you see posts that are expiring automatically without touching the post, that is probably caused by cron events that are still scheduled for those posts. Maybe that is a leftover of an old bug. We fixed the UI, but the cron events we can’t fix automatically because you are not able to know what posts you really want to expire and what should not expire.

Please, could you check the diagnostics page: Future > Diagnostics > Current Cron Schedule. The post IDS are in the Arguments / Schedule column.

Please update to version 2.7.2 which should fix this issue.

If it doesn’t fix this, please start a new thread with these 3 details:

1. Use a plugin like this to rollback to an earlier version: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-rollback/. What specific versions do work correctly?
2. Disable other plugins one-by-one. Is there a plugin conflict here?
3. Share a screenshot of both your “Defaults” and your “Post Type” settings.`
