  • Where is your site hosted? WordPress itself doesn’t block any plugins – I just tried installing this plugin on a test site and it worked fine. However, some companies that specialize in WordPress hosting have been known to blacklist plugins due to performance or security concerns.

If this is a restriction set by your hosting, it’s unlikely that there’s any good way to bypass it.

It is hosted by WordPress itself through Godaddy. Is there any way to bypass this ‘security’ from them? They really blacklist the Broken link checker due to performance or security concerns.

I found this message Godaddy Support, click

    General Performance
These plugins don’t perform well, in general, especially on large sites.

broken-link-checker — This can cause large amounts of traffic and resource usage. Please try using client software on your computer or an external service.

How could I bypass this ‘protection’??

broken-link-checker — This can cause large amounts of traffic and resource usage.

That’s mostly what I expected. The plugin is designed to periodically check all of your links. If your site has a lot of links, it could indeed use significant amounts of traffic.

You could try renaming the plugin folder from “broken-link-checker” to something else.

Note that the hosting provider might consider attempts to bypass their “protection” to be a breach of Terms of Service.
