Plugin Issue with newer versions

Hello,
We have an issue, which stops us from updating the plugin on our site.
If you scroll down on the frontpage, you can see the catalogs with the eye icon.
Once you click on them, the flipbook will open in a modal window.
Everything works as intended.
But if we update the plugin. The following happens:
The catalog items get duplicated, which is the first mayor issue.
That could be hidden with css so it is not a mayor issue.
However, the flipbook modal becomes unusable now.
It does not load the source pdfs. And even if it would load them, the buttons are not clickable anymore but close the modal instead.Any help regarding this issue would be highly appreciated.
