The messages sent using the jetpack contact form are correctly registered on the feedback area (I do think it should have a bubble telling the user how many new feedbacks, but that’s another issue) but no mails are being sent by the form.
With or without the TO=XXXX option on the shortcode, on pages or posts. No mails are being sent.

    Just a follow up.

The contact form will not send emails if the visitor email address does not exist.
I had some fake accounts on my wp and was trying to send emails logged as those fake users (with invalid emails), so no emails were sent.
Using valid email addresses, everything works as expected. Thanks Jetpack Team!

I am having the same issue. We use Google Apps for Your Domain and wondering if it might be Google’s mail servers blocking the messages entirely. Perhaps if we could authenticate via our own smtp servers the messages would have a better chance?

I have double checked that the email is free of typos. Curious…

I’m seeing the same problem, only mine is happening with valid email addresses. Form submissions go to Feedback, but I never see the email.

I wanted a simple contactform and I thought that would be the Jetpack one..for me the same problem: on 1 site feedback ok but no email notification and the other site no feedback neither..

Same thing happening here as some – I’m up-to-date on WP, plugins and themes – contact form saves messages in Feedback, but does not email it. I’ve deactivated, reactivated, added new form, done the hokey-pokey and turned myself around – no dice. Too bad, too – I just wanted a super simple contact form exactly like this. Maybe I’ll try deactivating all my other plugins and see if there’s a conflict.

If you are using google apps or your email is hosted with a different host other than your blog, and if the domain name in the recipient email address is the same as your blog address, then please ensure that you update the MX entries in your control panel so that your web server knows where to deliver the emails.

You may have the correct MX entries in your domain’s DNS zone, however, when a user submits an enquiry via the contact form on your website, the web server would think that the destination email address is hosted on the same web server and hence it would try to deliver the email locally rather than reaching out to the destination server. As a result, the email is not delivered.

Replacing the MX entries in the control panel will tell the web server that the emails for this domain is hosted elsewhere and hence all emails to this domain will be routed to the correct server.

Yeah. My server is Bluehost not Google (I have Google for another domain–and that was a headache). I actually had a tech guy from my server company run tests with me. I had contacted them, because I figured they would have some way of identifying the email thru my server-they didn’t–because the “from” section of the email–was my server address. The jetpack contact form doesn’t work. I had all the required fields on the form on my site. I changed to Vcita (not exactly what I wanted, but at least it works). It really bothers me that I had potential business that is completely lost, because there is no way of tracing their identifying information.

I test jetpack contact form, but ALL my tests were filteres by akismet!
no one was sent since they were considered spam!

How could I add an address to a whitelist?
