[Plugin: Jetpack by WordPress.com] Incorrect stats

Logged into the admin section of my site today and looked at the site stats, where I was pleasantly surprised to find I’ve had (at the time of writing) 1,639 visitors in the last nine hours.

Surprised because my corner of the internet is not that popular and Google Analytics reports it’s more like only nine people have visited today.

So, wondered where this anomaly is coming from and how to fix it?
