[Plugin: Jetpack by WordPress.com] Some subscribers not receiving e-mail updates.

  • I have a registered members only blog and the e-mail updates are really integral to how it all works. Unfortunately some of the members with a hotmail e-mail account are mentioning that they have not received a confirmation e-mail after signing up and have said that they couldn’t find it in their Spam folder either. For now I am just forwarding the updates to these people, but I’m wondering if there’s another way around it!

    There don’t seem to be any other e-mail notification plug-ins that work with the newest version of WordPress yet.

  • Email issues are more likely down to your server being on a blacklist if for example you are on a shared host.

    So the email is just being completely dropped by hotmail.
    Or in some cases your server is not sending out at all.

    Check out wpMandrill (https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/wpmandrill/).
    The way WP sends via php is similar to how spambots send buld trash.
    You can use an SMTP email plugin and send through your email accounts via SMTP or via Mandrill.
    You get 12,000 emails per month at no cost through Mailchimp’s Mandrill service.

    Will someone please let me know if they stumble upon any new plug-ins for WordPress version 3.4 that will automatically e-mail out a new post to all of the subscribers?

    The only one that is currently compatible, it seems, is Jetpack, but many of my subscribers report that they aren’t receiving the e-mails.
