[Plugin: Jetpack] Dual Portfolios Publicize w/Custom Theme

Objective:
To get Jetpack’s publicize feature to work with Portfolio pages using the Semplice theme

Problem:
The Semplice theme I’m using can’t seem to connect with Jetpack’s Custom Post Types to take advantage of Jetpack’s publicize feature.

History:
1) I realize that if I add posts into Jetpack’s Portfolio, the publicize feature would work, but that’s not how Semplice is coded. The Semplice them already comes with a Portfolio section in which you have to put those types of posts for the theme to work correctly. In fact, turning on Custom Post Types for Jetpack creates a second Portfolio which is basically useless to me.

Is there some kind of code I can add to Jetpack or my site to help connect Semplice’s Portfolio with Jetpack’s Custom Post Types so that I can use the publicize feature?
