This plugin has promise but I think it was released much too soon. This is the third e-commerce plugin I’ve tried, and is the one I like the best but it needs a couple more features (like the ability to sell different variations of one product) and it’s somewhat buggy if you’re trying to integrate it with an existing WP theme, which is what I’m trying to do.

I didn’t start using WP because I wanted to sell something–there are better solutions out there for that than WP. I am a blogger that needed to integrate an e-shop into my blog, using a theme I’ve already invested time into, and I’m not a developer. Many of the e-shop developers don’t seem to understand that.

This one is good, but support is thin unless you already know what you’re doing–basically Q&A on their forum which is not enough, especially for someone who is new to it.

Well I’m on to try my next e-shop plugin, but if this one improves I might be back.

  • There are a few contradictions in your post so I’m not sure where to start. You like Jigoshop more than any other eCommerce plugin but don’t want to use it? Jigoshop was released too soon but you may still use it anyway?

To be honest, if you’re searching for a plugin which is going to seamlessly integrate with your theme upon activation you’re search is going to be long and is going to be fruitless.

We’ve had nothing but good comments regarding our support efforts. I’m not sure if you’re confusing Jigoshop with a premium plugin where one would expect support to be obligatory. Jigoshop is completely free! We’re a small team so our time is spread between adding the features you need (configurable products for example are coming soon) and providing what support we can to satisfy our community.

Good luck with your search anyway.

First let me apologize to you and your team. You guys have done a terrific job with this plugin. I wasn’t trying to bash your team or its efforts.

I’d spent all day trying to get two others to work with my theme and just got very frustrated. When I tried yours I expected it to work with no issues (yep, I did) and was tired and frustrated that it didn’t–my fault not your product’s.

I do like Jigoshop–which is why I even took the time to make a post. I expressed an opinion about it’s release, which you might disagree with–and that’s ok, you’re entitled to yours and I’m entitled to mine. Of the many e-shop plugins I looked at, and of the three I actually tried, I liked Jigoshop the best, but I spent some time trying to get it to work for me and with my limited technical skills I could not–again my fault, not your product’s.

So let me try to convey what I failed to before–I think Jigoshop is a really good plugin. I found it easy to install and configure and was impressed with the front-end design. I couldn’t get it to fully work for me with my limited skills, but someone else might not have the issues I did, or will know enough to resolve it on their own, or will be able to resolve it with the support provided on the Jigoshop site.

I’ve given up on the e-shop idea for now.
