I am trying out this script, which is great so far(thank you).

I have a lot of images uploaded, none of which have filenames that are descriptive (e.g image4991.jpg etc), and I really don’t want to go back and rename and re-upload all my images.

Is there a setting I am missing or any way to display a title or caption or description of some sort in the popup window instead of the default filename?

    Help!

Colorbox uses the image title that is entered when uploading the images to wordpress.

Just trying out this plugin and my title/caption has disappeared.

I know it was definitely there when I first installed the plugin, as I tested with the ‘title’, ‘alt’ and ‘caption’ fields to establish it was the ‘title’ which was displayed. However, it has now disappeared and I can’t get this text to display. I can’t see it in the HTML either, so it’s not been hidden via CSS. I have re-installed the plugin, and tried changing stuff, but still no text.

    Any ideas?

    Hi,
I never changed that the link title is used as the title of the colorbox.
Maybe you installed a new theme / a theme update that changed which attribute is used as the link title?

Also: Could you post a link to your site here?

    Cheers,
    Arne

    Hi Arne,

Thanks for your reply. Client website with custom theme: https://www.justglobalpayroll.com/hr-solutions/ Although now I have tested putting in a LINK TITLE (rather than using the image title), and I have now got a title showing – see both thumbnail images – the first (Employee Directory screen) doesn’t show the IMAGE title text, but the ‘Reports Screen’ one displays the LINK title text.

Is that right – we’ve got to add in a LINK title as well as the image title?

    Cheers,

    Andy

    Hi,

I’m sorry, of course it’s the image’s title that’s used for images that are opened in the colorbox, it’s the link title if you use the colorbox for links… Got those confused.

Which fields you have to fill in depends on your theme, but I guess most themes use the field “Title” from the image dialog.

    Cheers,
    Arne
