    A link to where we could see this happening would be helpful.

    My plugin doesn’t modify the output of the [gallery] shortcode (well it does, but not in a way that would affect this).

    Sounds like CSS in your theme or something is causing the problem.

    ooh hello,

    sorry, here’s a link to a page with a gallery.

    I have a child theme of Imbalance2 installed. What do you think? I’m a bit of a novice when it comes to interpreting code.

    Something is stopping WordPress from outputting the default CSS styling for galleries. Perhaps your theme, perhaps another plugin.

    Try temporarily disabling all other plugins or switching themes.

    EDIT: It’s your theme. It has code to disable outputting the gallery CSS. I’d contact the author of the theme for help in debugging this issue. (Even if my plugin was disabled, this issue would still occur.)
