• ** I am not the admin of the site in question, just a cam viewer who is trying to help them troubleshoot their problem. **

The website in question uses the JW Player plugin and is built using WordPress 3.2.1, and streams a live webcam. Many viewers do not have an issue viewing the stream, but many others do. Instead of seeing the video, the player simply buffers. Forever. This occurs on both Macs and PC’s – on Firefox, Chrome, IE and Safari – and on all versions of that machine’s OS (i.e. Windows 7, Windows XP, etc…). Clearing the cache, deleting cookies, force-refreshes, rebooting, even power-cycling the modem do not resolve the issue.

And yet, at the very moment those unfortunate would-be cam viewers continue to troubleshoot, many others are having no issue at all.

Because I am not the maintainer of that site I obviously cannot provide all the sorts of details that might be helpful. Likewise, I know that any advice that might be given here will similarly be incomplete, but I would love to give them a “general” sort of answer if at all possible so that their volunteer IT guy can start to get things sorted out.

I really appreciate any insight anyone might be able to give!
