Since upgrading to WordPress (Multisite) 6.5.2 the plugin keeps getting deactivated. I have Events calender version 6.3.7 (and now 6.4) installed and it’s only activated on one site. I reactivate it and it works for a while then I see it has deactivated again. I am running PHP 8.2 on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS.

    Any ideas?

    Hi @thewoosh

Thanks for reaching out. Let me help you with this one.

It’s possible that the problem you’re experiencing is related to PHP 8.2, which isn’t completely compatible with our plugins yet. To see if this is the issue, would you be able to try downgrading your PHP version to 8.0, and let us know if that fixes the problem?

Hi I have downgraded to PHP 8.03 and reactivated the plugins. I’ll wait and see if that fixes it.

Can you tell me what errors PHP8.3 might trigger so I can check the logs?

…and when do you think that you will be supporting more recent PHP versions? After all 8.0 has been EOL for 6 months+ and 8.1 has been out for 2.5 yrs…

Change to PHP 8.0 hasn’t made any difference. Any suggestions welcome (except ‘switch all plugins off’ – this is on a multisite hosting a number of live sites). I can do whatever debugging you might suggest – have root access to cli

    Hi @thewoosh ,

    Thank you for your message.

I suspect there’s a conflict that’s causing the issue here. It would be good to test for conflicts. Could you follow the following steps?

    1. Deactivate all other plugins except for The Events Calendar Plugins.
    2. Switching to the Default theme.

Please read the Testing for Conflicts Article before doing anything.
To be safe, we’d recommend conducting tests and updates on a Staging Server. Also, please keep a working backup of your website.
