    Maybe there is a way to add the option to work with events.php or index.php in the Events Custom Post type using: https://somadesign.ca/projects/smarter-custom-post-types/ . A nice solution until WordPress has included an index option to Custom Post Types. Other option I am considering is adding a separate custom page template.

    Never mind. Shortcode [events] does the trick.
