• I’m increasingly frustrated with everyone who visits my front page at superdude.org having to click through links every time they want to see my newest comic pages. I want to improve content delivery, to provide that immediacy. if I could embed kommiku pages in a wordpress post, that would solve it…unfortunately WordPress Post Connect is completely broken for me, I tried for hours with every variation I could think of: p=344, 344, /p=344, ‘344’ and https://superdude.org/?p=344 and MANY more, only to fail, “No such WordPress Post.”

My theory is that kommiku looks into directories as though i’m wordpress through www.ads-software.com, not self hosted wordpress, which I am, and that is why it fails. Any thoughts?

Please, please help. I really don’t want to go back to the ComicPress nightmare!

I am glad that works :]

One last thing Nick, you said something about Comicpress, can you tell me about your experience with that?

I did like to know that way I can try to avoid having people experience a similar issue in Kommiku.

I’m still looking for the Eslend solution and comment section…

The problem I had with ComicPress was that it only physically allowed you to post one comic a day, and the team viewed it as a feature not a bug. I don’t know if ComicPress still has that issue, but back then I had to spend too much time manipulating the dates. But ComicPress does have your latest comic page up front on your front page as the default.

My main goal was/is achieving that, a certain immediacy of zombies on the front page, to make it so that as soon as people hit the front page they get that feeling of “oh no, zombies.” How do I get that Eslend solution with the comment sections you have? I can change my chapter slugs if needed…

    Thread Starter NickDupree

    (@nickdupree)

hold on, hold on, there IS a comment section there, with the embed of the wordpress post! woo! https://superdude.org/webcomics/RRvsZombies/chapter2/9/

that is solved, I’m satisfied with how commenting works there… now I need to figure out how to bring everything up to the front page!

There will be a new update to Kommiku soon where you can bring everything up to the front. It ruined Eslend, hence it was 2.1, and when I updated it to 2.2… I broked it.

    Thread Starter NickDupree

    (@nickdupree)

So… help for me is on the way?

    Plugin Author Anraiki

    (@anraiki)

Sure. If you feel like testing 2.2.1, it will be in pastebin… just replace the Kommiku.php.

    Thread Starter NickDupree

    (@nickdupree)

once I replaced it, then what do I do?

    (@anraiki)

Go to your settings, paste “RRvsZombies” into One Story Mode, and click on Index Over-ride.

    it works! hurray!

please tell me how you do the awesome header and footer on Eslend. That is the last missing piece of the puzzle for a good webcomic delivery platform. I really need to have a header and footer where I can put links, links to my other comics, and ad space. especially important would be
    link – ABOUT RRvsZombies
    link – about zombies
link – about Roosevelt’s Rough Riders
    link – about the author

That’s what I need, something like your links to About, dotspiral, eslend.com on your header and footer would be perfect!

I really appreciate everything you have done and I want to donate.

Are you familiar with HTML? Like editing and inputting link…

or do you want a particular skin?

I use the Thematic Skin for Eslend, and edit it slightly.

    Thread Starter NickDupree

    (@nickdupree)

I know how to make links and mailtos, but where do I put the html?

I don’t want a fancy skin, just something simple and functional for now, like yours.

I recommend downloading this theme: https://www.ads-software.com/extend/themes/thematic

Once you installed that theme for WordPress, I will give you the necessary files to change the Kommiku theme.

K, I got it installed and activated, now what?
