[Plugin: Last.fm Artists] change weekly time range

great plugin! i would love to use this plugin in my posts on my wordpress blog. i am hoping to change the timerange so that it would be a weekly snapshot instead of the most recent 7 days, so that i can keep track of my top artists each week. i know that i can do that through the last.fm api using the user.getWeeklyChartList instead of user.getWeeklyArtistChart but i need some advice on how to go about pulling the date ranges from the api/xml-rpc!
i am not a php or programming expert, i know css and how to edit templates but that is about it! i would really appreciate some advice and to know if this is even possible!
