Would it be useful to some coder (since I wouldn’t ask someone to write something that they wouldn’t find useful themselves ?? to mod the Limit Login code to auto-block IPs that attempt to log in with username Admin or admin?

Since security conscious WP admins never have a user named “admin,” any attempt to log in with that name is fake and blocking the IP may reduce dictionary attacks that start with admin and then work through a list.

Basically it’s just blocking IPs on a single bad attempt for a specific username but I have no idea how to cook the code.

I do not think this is advisable as a general rule. I will however be adding a hook to the lockout path in the next version if anyone want to do it themselves.

I think this will be very nice and very useful feature.
