• I just started using link-library and was following a few tips to another writer for formatting the table/entries. My problem is there’s a huge gap between the link category title and the list of links.

I see the problem in Chrome and IE but not Firefox.

    Here’s the page:

I’m not sure what my question is other than does anyone know what’s going wrong on the page?

  • Yes – that is the space I am talking about. Thank you so much for taking the time to look at it. ??

I will delete the line of code you reference and then add the other one you mention. As for your suggestion that the main entry div could use some css code to bring everything to the top – – I have NO idea what that means or how to accomplish it. If you would be so kind as to point me in the right direction there, I would appreciate it. If you feel you can’t, I will research it online a bit and see what I can teach myself.

    Again, many, many thanks!

I see your site is currently down for maintenance. I will go back and see what I can figure out from your styling. Will it back up later tonight or only later this week-end?

Sorry, Yannick – I worked all weekend, so I did not see your message until this morning. Our site is not officially launched yet, so the Maintenance Mode is its current default status. If you have a chance to take a look at it, I am happy to open the site back up for you to get in again. You can log in with the same credentials as last time.

By the way, I did try the first two steps you recommended, but they did not make any difference in the white space issue.

    Thanks so much!

I cannot log in to the site with the credentials that you gave me before.

Just a second – I’ll open it up to you, Yannick. ??

Ok – I just opened the site and confirmed the credentials – you should be all set.

Yannick, I had to close the site down again because we had some eager folks finding their way onto it and signing up early. I am going to have to leave the Maintenance Mode setting in place for now. I can give you Admin privileges so you can access the site despite the Maintenance setting. In order to do that, though, I will have to ask you to change the password from the one I had posted here – don’t want everyone here accessing the site as an Admin! I will make you an Admin now, but please do log in and change your password ASAP.

    Thanks!

All right. I went in and changed the password on that account. That being said, I won’t have time to investigate the layout issue more until Friday night at this rate. I will let you know what I find at that time.

Thanks, Yannick – you will have access to the site for as long as you need it. I truly appreciate your time and your knowledge! I have already included a reference to you, Link Libraries and a thank you in our sticky Welcome post. ??

    Thanks,
    Alisha

Yannick, we are getting ready to launch our site at the end of this week. Any chance you might have a moment to take a look at it on Wednesday or Thursday to see if there is any chance of determining if there is something in the code causing the issue with the extra space between the title and the top of the table?

    Thanks,
    Alisha

I am out of ideas on this problem. I thought I had replied here when I last looked at the problem a few days ago. It does not seem to be related to Link Library but to a problem in the site’s stylesheet. Do you know someone who is good at troubleshooting CSS / HTML issues?

I did not see a reply here from you recently – we must have gotten wires crossed on that one. Sorry about that. I do not have a CSS whiz handy, but I will either find myself one or make myself the expert. ??

I truly do appreciate your time and your attempt to help with this issue. Moreover, I appreciate your fabulous Link Library plugin. Thank you so much for your creativity and making your labors available to all of us to use on our WordPress sites. When I went looking for a plugin to meet our need, I never dreamed I’d find one that would do it as perfectly as Link Library does. Thanks again!

    Best,
    Alisha

Yannick, you will be happy to know I found the solution, and it was ridiculously simple! The problem was that there were spaces – simple spaces – in front of the <td> coding in the Link Library settings window. Deleting all of the spaces in front of the code fixed the problem. ??

Interesting. Thanks for the update. I am glad that this has been resolved. Good luck with the site launch.
