[Plugin: List Pages Shortcode] show excerpt with child-pages

Hi … me too … anybody know how to do this ?

The plugin currently uses the WordPress wp_list_pages() which don’t easily allow you to include excerpts:

There’s a couple of approaches that could be taken in order to re-design the plugin to also allow excerpts.

Are you just wanting to show as a list; title, excerpt; title, excerpt etc…..?

I was hoping an excerpt include was part of this plugin too. Loving it so far but need the have the excerpt to make it all work.

I have 5 sites that are very similar and use the short code [child-pages depth=”1″] successfully on 4 out of 5 sites. on the 5th site (which happens to be the main site it doesn’t seem to know it is the parent of 3 pages and so shows the code on the screen and does not show the list of children pages. What in the world am I doing wrong?

Do you mean it shows “[child-pages depth=”1″]” on the live site?
If so:

1. Check the plugin is definitely activate
2. If the site uses any caching, make sure you empty the cache

If the actual shortcode is showing it indicates that the shortcode has not be recognised by WordPress for some reason.

Is the dash in child-pages definitely a simple hyphen and not a long dash or something?
