I was locked out the system so then I tried to log in as another administrator and it locked it out. When I go in my FTP to delete plugin then I can log in no prob so I go to plug ins to add again then it automatically kicks me out again leaving me to keep doing the same process with no results. I am no techie but i can follow instructions. What do I need to do because the plug in is great and I’m impressed i can’t get in when it’s activated but I above all need to. Please help.

I am going through the same thing as here:https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/plugin-login-security-solution-wont-let-me-login?replies=8

except its been way pass 2 hours since the incident, its going on more like 4 hours.. I’m about to go out for about 2 more hours to see how this goes. I received the reset password email for the upteenth time and it takes a long time to load then it finally says invalid user & pw although I just changed it right then and there. Will see if this will let up later.

Just like above my only access to delete it was manually otherwise it kicks me out once I hit on dashboard button so there was no other way to delete it. I guess I’m in breach mode and not sure how long it’s going to last. I dont know if everytime I deleted plugin then restarted it if that also restarted my 120 minutes. I’m purposefully going to stay off site for over the 2 hr threshold with the plugin being active to see what happens.

Ok my issue is fixed but it took all day. What I did do differently was delete a plugin here then tried it and I was in so not sure if that conflicted with it or not.I received an email alert about that plugin not being the best for my site.

    Hi Stayc215:

Sorry you had problems. I just installed the ozh-simpler-login-url plugin you mentioned and did some tests. It doesn’t cause problems for me.

When did my plugin boot you out? Was it upon submitting the “Change All Passwords” form? My “Change All Passwords” process is designed not to reset the password of the person who submits the form. BUT, the way it prevents the present user from being booted relies on the global $user_ID variable. It sounds like some other plugin is misbehaving by not passing the variable along. What other plugins do you have?

I guess I need to put in some validation to stop the process if it’s not set.

    Thanks,

    –Dan

After the plugin let me know by email that I was attacking the blog, I could not get over to my blog, it says that my password was reset and asks for my email, I put my email and then give me a url which no works, tells me that my password is not secure.

Put for example: TgtdE4#&#$2dD and says it is not safe.

    1) You’re hijacking someone else’s support thread. In the future, please start a new thread.

    2) You typed in the wrong name / password combination 6 times and then successfully logged in after that?

    3) What do you mean the URL “no works”? It sure sounds like the URL works, since you’re getting to the screen that asks you to pick a new password.

    4) “TgtdE4#&#$2dD” is a totally fine password, I just tested it and it passses using my plugin’s default settings. Have you changed the plugin’s Password Policy settings?

Thank you for your prompt responses, care and concern for your awesome plugin. Let me tell you I love your plugin. I had to get rid of another plug in I really liked since i think it was conflicting with your and when I had to decide which one to let go it was the other one of course. See I was inconvenienced when I was locked out but I was also super impressed because that means it will do this to someone who really deserves it too. It conflicted with the Better Wp Security which is a great plug in and it too has lockout feature but what sets your from the rest is if someone is a hack genius and gets in anyway then your plug in will automatically log them out before any damage is done. Hats off to you for that sir Daniel! Good day.

    Hi Stayc215:

Thanks for the kind words and making the right decision. ?? I’m curious, did you sort out why/how it was conflicting? I’ll have to check out that plugin again and see if there’s anything that can be done or if I need to announce that it’s incompatible.

    Thanks,

    –Dan

PS: cough (rate the plugin) cough (and vote for the combination “working”) cough :).

    Stayc215:

I’m looking at the Better WordPress Security plugin right now. It provides the ability to disable the features that Login Security Solution does better. In BWPS’ settings page, un-check the “Enable Login Limits”
and “Enable strong password enforcement” boxes. This should permit smooth operation of both plugins. I’ll add information about this to my readme / plugin pages.

Thanks so much for the feedback!
