[Plugin: Login With Ajax] WordPress in its own directory AND Login with AJax

Hi there,
I seem to have a problem to get Login with Ajax working if WP is installed in it’s own subdirectory. I used this guide:
https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directoryto make the changes and the website works. But now Login with Ajax just keeps spinning if I try to log in. Any ideas?
Is this a known issue? I tried it on a totally new install in a sub-directiry, which worked fine (LWA worked fine!). As soon as I followed the instructions above, the spinner just spins.
