• Hello

    I’d like to add some text into the box where people enter their email address e.g. “Type your email here”

    I can do it with Firebug by selecting the appropriate box and changing this line:

    <input type="text" class="mc_input" id="mc_mv_EMAIL" name="mc_mv_EMAIL" value="ADDING MY TEXT HERE" size="18">

    But I can’t find that line in the plugin editor.

    Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Tim.

    P.S. I’ve got some JavaScript lined up to make it disappear when someone clicks it.

  • Sorry, if you can’t trace the code through, that change is beyond the scope of the support we can offer. You can try using the embed code form for your list instead.

    Also be wary that if you do make the change, it’s going to be overwritten if you forget and upgrade the plugin.

    Thanks Jesse. I hadn’t seen the embed code before and it looks as thought that might be the way ahead.

    I’ll let you know how I get on.

    I’m trying to do exactly the same. The plugin Contact-form 7 allows you to set a “watermark” for each input field.
    Would be great to have something similar in the Mailchimp sign up form, so that my forms look alike.
