[Plugin: MailChimp List Subscribe Form] mail chimp plugin will not update color

I have the wordpress plugin and it works as far as sombody is able to sign up, but it wont let me update the colors.
i tried clearing out the cache/cookies. i tried deleting the plugin and getting a new one.Also, the styler is also checked and i changed colors on both background colors. the plugin is the latest plugin. no matter what code of color i put in it wont change color. i was able to change the color of the words and that is it.

you can see my white sign up form there. any suggestions im a absolute newbie. but it seems that the plugin isnt working or is clashing with some other plugin. is there another plugin that would work? any suggestions.
