• It hijacked my site so I had big problems in getting it up again afterwards. It took some time and I had to change the code to be able to log in to it and upgrade the site.

  • It depends what you did while your maintenance mode was activated. If you upgraded your blog – yes it locks your whole site. The solution is this:
go to your plugins directory and find the folder containing the maintenance plugin. Rename the files in that directory. Then you will be able to open your site and deactivate the plugin if it is not deactivated already. If you want to use the plugin again do this:
Download again the plugin (for now version 3.2) and upload the new files in the same directory, then delete the old ones. Activate the plugin again and test it. Before all of that don’t forget to backup all your files and DB!

doesn’t work in 2.6 … locked me out from admin panel had to delete directory to get back…

I’ve had no problems with it on either 2.6 or 2.6.1. It’s worked as advertised for me.

Works fine for me on 2.7.

It’s not working for me in 2.7. On BOTH my blogs. It worked before I upgraded. Any ideas what I did wrong? Shouldn’t it be a matter of just clicking ‘Activate’ and saving changes?

    Ok, problem solved. Sorry! ??

the new version seems to be throwing some error with my buddy press installation:

Warning: in_array() [function.in-array]: Wrong datatype for second argument in /home/xxxxx/xxxxx/xxxxx/wp-content/mu-plugins/bp-core/bp-core-catchuri.php on line 112

i’m downgrading if i can find the old version.

found it. did it . solved the issue.

    hello!
i’m not able to access to my feeds…..
    always in Maintenance-mode….why?

Hi there, we always have our installations in a wp folder but the blog url always set to root level. We have never got maintenance mode to work with this scenario. It is fine if the blog address is set to the same as the wordpress address but the minute we change the blog address, everyone (whether logged in or not) is always shown the maintenance mode page. Not sure how to get round this?
