[Plugin: Members] logged in users / security

I have some files in the /uploads folder that I need to protect.
I’m currently using the /members/ plugin and it does well protecting the landing page and posts redirecting non-logged in users to the login page.
If you have the URL of a file in the /uploads folder visitors are allowed to the file without being logged in.
Can anyone suggest a plugin or code edit to achieve this?
