Hi Simon, did you upload the slide images before setting the dimensions in the slideshow settings? The image size is set when the images are uploaded, try re-uploading the images.

    yes I did.
    I found a solution though.
    In the file meteor-slides/includes/meteor-slideshow.php
I changed all “featured-slide” to “full” and now it works perfectly.

Is this a bug/feature or a bad workaround?

Simon, GREAT solution!!! I certainly didn’t want to go through and upload all of my images again.

I wonder if this will be wiped out with future updates, though, and we’ll have to change the ‘featured-slide’ back to ‘full’ again.

Overall, I’m liking meteor-slides. Straight-forward, fairly simple. I dig it.

Simon, thanks to your workaround, I was able to get the slideshow to work inside a table. It was possible to tweak a few things rather than re-size and re-load and re-size and re-load the images.

JLeuze, any chance of incorporating this into future updates?

Hi Simon, that is how it is supposed to work. Some users might upload a large image as a slide and it should crop that image to fit the slideshow dimensions so that it doesn’t break the slideshow or look too terrible. This auto-cropping isn’t perfect through, and to get the best results you want to size all the slide images to fit the slideshow before uploading them.

It sounds like your slide images were sized correctly, but they were cropped to 200px anyway. My guess is that the slideshow dimensions were set to the defaults options when the slide images were uploaded, which would have cropped them at 200px.

To fix this, re-upload the slide images to resize the featured images, or use a plugin to regenerate the thumbnails if you have a ton of slides.

OzManic, Happy to hear I could help ??

JLeuze, Maybe you can add an option to choose weather to resize to images (and that would use the currect settings) or use original size wich will use the “full” option?

I think it’s quite an easy solution that can solve the problem for many people…

The problem with resizing the photos and reloading, in my situation:

    – Make the slideshow the perfect size, but the font is too small to read.
    – Resize a little bigger and reload the images
    – Font is still a little too small.
    – Resize a little bigger and reload the images
    – on and on …

A full-size option would be great. Then the user is left to fiddle with the settings instead of the more elaborate process.

I would prep your slide images in Photoshop or whatever editor to the size you want that looks good, and set the slideshow dimensions to match the slide images.

    Gotcha!
