    GREAT PLUGIN!!
I needed to show specific slides in my widget area, but the Meteor Slides Sidebar Widget doesn’t seem to allow this. So I created a gallery in the regular Meteor Slides with just the images I needed and used shortcode in a Text Widget. It works beautifully in all the decent browsers FF, opera, safari, chrome…but doesn’t show up at all in IE7 or IE8 (I despise IE). Is there a workaround?

    Thanks!

Hi Lori, thanks for trying Meteor Slides!

There are no options for the widget, but it loads the same content as the short code or the template tag, there should be no difference.

What do you mean by “created a gallery in the regular Meteor Slides”? Did you add a gallery of multiple images to a single slide post? Or did you add multiple slide posts with just the one featured image each?

Everything looks fine on your site. I’m wondering if it might be a theme issue since it is only happening in some browsers. You are using the Builder theme from iThemes right?

Could you test the regular Meteor Slides Widget in IE, or the short code in a page or post and see if that shows up?

    Hi Jleuze,

Yes, I am using the Builder theme from iThemes.

I’ve created a test page with the shortcode inserted in the body instead of the widget area

Again, I’m not seeing anything in IE. Others have indicated that they ARE seeing the slideshow in IE, though.
I thought maybe it may be something on my end, so I also tested live in crossbrowsertesting.com and the slideshow isn’t showing there, either.

    Strange.
    Thanks for any insight ??

Alright, you are doing everything correctly.

It looks like this is a conflict with the theme, could you please switch to the default 2010 theme and see if the slideshow is still missing in Internet Explorer?

Sorry it took so long to replay…I’ve been swamped all day.
I tried the slideshow widget in the 2010 theme sidebar and it’s working. The shortcode in the sidebar works as well. SO…as you said, this is probably an issue with the Builder theme . I really like MeteorSlides…the Rotating images plugin that comes as part of Builder is pretty lame. Would there be a way to code this into Builder’s theme files?

I don’t have a copy of the Builder theme, but I’ll see what I can do to figure out the conflict.

Hi Lori, I did not receive an email from you.

I tested Meteor Slides with Builder and it worked fine in IE, so I don’t think it is a browser issue unless it is related to your child theme.

I did see some extra JavaScript files in your header, maybe from Next Gen add-ons, are you using any Next Gen add-ons or just the core plugin?

Do you think you could email me a login for your site so that I could check out your plugins and see if I can find any conflicts?

Hi Josh…yes, I’m also using NextGen. I will fire you an email with login credentials. Thank you so much for taking the time to look.
