[Plugin: MobilePress] Doesn’t work with super cache?

We are aware of the caching issues and are going to be releasing a new version very soon with a fix (probably in the next week). For now, if you clear your cache the plugin should start working.

Do you need to clear your cache once? or do you have to keep clearing your cache for the mobile version to display? I’ll look forward to the updated version. This has been a an going issue for a while now. It would be great to have it resolved once and for all!

You just need to clear your cache once and it should work most of the time.

I have just finished the code for the MobilePress caching fix and it is working 100% on my blog at https://iarematt.com. So we will be releasing a new MobilePress version really soon and the fix will be part of the release. ??

Ahh there we go, it works now after trying that.

One more thing, would you consider making it optional to add the “powered by WordPress and MobilePress,” to something like Powered by WordPress, having the option of showing that at all or just a portion of the powered by text?

For people that want to make sure their content is branded very specific, it would help a lot.

Also, have you considered upgrading the img support so if you have an img that is 640px, that it resizes the imgs or just includes a link to it instead? maybe making those optional settings?

Oh, lol, one more suggestion:

How about offering a “show X per page” or “show X posts on homepage”

also, how about offering a “related posts in footer or header” option, so give the themes more functionality for users

It’s something I’ve been looking around for.

Recently I’ve been testing it on the website I’m responsible for (https://www.helvetia-basel.ch) with more or less success.

We had the issue of the pages for mobile-phones being cached and served to the regular browsers.

Now after the update to MobilePress 1.0.3 it looks like FireFox 3.0.4 has no issues any more, but IE 7 ends up drawing the mobile pages all the time (once they’ve been cached). So for the time being I had to deactivate your plug-in.

We’re using WP 2.5.1 with a hacked wp-super-cache 0.8.4 along with PHP Speedy WP 0.4.7 (super-cache hacked to allow speedy to work with it – as per the fix suggested by the author of speedy)… and a couple of other plug-ins:
– Event Calendar (+ Widget) 3.1.4
– Google XML Sitemaps 3.1.0.1
– Redirection 2.0.11
– WordPress.com Stats 1.3.4
– WP Security Scan 2.3

Yeah count me among the many who would be interested in an update. I guess a possible solution to this would be to manually redirect users to the mobile press version using a get variable. For example.
yourblog.com?theme=mobilepress. Then have all the links from that template also attach that query string to the url to any link inside.

That way i can make a subdomain mobile.yourblog.com and point it to yourblog.com?theme=mobilepress. And you could just give that subdomain link out to your readers.

I hope im making sense here. This way you’ll have manual way of pointing to the mobile version without having to worry about caching.

The latest version of Super Cache has MobilePress support and it works great.
