[Plugin: MP3-jPlayer] No songs appear in player

  • I have installed the mp3j-ul player plugin and right out the box, it worked fine. I put it in a sidebar and used Mode 3. Set the folder url and all seemed good to go. The url is of the form https://www.mysite.org/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2011/mp3. I created a folder called mp3 so that my client could just upload new songs to the folder and have them available on her site. Seemed simple enough!

    Then I changed the file names from this_song.mp3 to This Song.mp3 and now it doesn’t work. Even if I set the file names back it doesn’t work. And by doesn’t work, I mean I see a player but no songs listed. When I look at the widget, it indicates it finds 3 songs.

    I’ve also tried many forms of the code snippets. Same results, players but no songs. Welcome your solutions!

  • Ugh I’m having the same problem! Does yours work when you use the popout window? Mine works when I open the popout but it just doesn’t work when it’s in the post or page.

    Here is the issue I’m having right here… it shows up, but there are no songs in the playlist… but when you open up the external player in the separate window it works just fine? Hmmm..

    Blah… frustrating!

    I’m having this same problem, and I have a client who needs it fixed ASAP. Hmmm.

    The problem was for my site was that my theme was hard-coding the jquery-ui script into the page, making it breaking the player… try switching to the default theme and seeing if it works in that… then if it doesn’t, start searching through the theme php’s for the jquery-ui script and delete what’s hard coding it… I don’t know shizz about coding, but I started testing by deleting and adding back lines that included the jquery-ui script until I found something that didn’t break my site, but fixed the mp3 player problem. It ended up being something to do with Google AdSense on my site…

    Yup, just got it worked out. It was a jquery conflict. I moved the jPlayer javascript requests from the mp3j_main.php file to the header, immediately before </head>, and everything works now.

    having a theme issue with iblogpro4, jplayer runs fine in the stock theme with the same plug-ins enabled :-/
