Well — don’t set them up as having a duration of more than one day. If you only want them to show up on the first day, then it seems that you don’t need them to be set up as longer events. Unless I’m misunderstanding your request.

I would do what you’re suggesting, but I still would like the event info to say the actual start and end dates.

The reason I would like to do this is because my events are usually week-long events and when the events are shown on every day that they are taking place, it makes the rows height like 500px.

I found that I could hack a solution by making a custom event template, but it is very complicated to explain to someone how to do that if I am not the one adding the event.

    Any ideas?

Complicated. I’ll have to think about it — it seems to me like a fairly non-standard view, though I do understand what you’re looking for.

For cases like this, I simply put the start and end info in the event description. And use the start/end dates to determine how it shows up in the calendar view.
