I been trying to figure this out on my own – but just can’t seem to get it. My church site is still in its infancy, and I’m trying to knock out one task at a time – and right now, that task is getting the Calendar up and running correctly. I really like the My Calendar plugin and all of it’s features.

I have the mini calendar widget on the right panel of my site, and when I click one of the date entries, the pop up box opens, but refuses to close. I’ve tried to add <?php wp_footer(); ?> in the footer.php theme file infront of the closing </body> element. All that did was make it impossible for me click on the scheduled entries. Are there any other fixes out there?

    Thanks,
    JT

That’s a new one for me! It opens only in reaction to clicking on the date entry, but won’t close when you click a second time on the date, correct? (I want to be sure I’m clear on the problem.)

Hey Joe. Yes, clicking on the date opens the entry and if I re-click on the date it does close it. But I didn’t realize it did that until I read your post. I worry that visitors to the site won’t realize that either. Is there any kind of code I could enter that would make any page click (whether it’s on that date or not)cause the box to close?

    Thank you,
    JT

I’m just trying this calendar, great stuff!

At the same time, I’m with John. I did figure out that you can re-click the date to have the pop-up re-shrink. I think people may often click on the pop-up again hoping it will close.

My cohort, who is a stickler for usability, dinged this. Maybe if I have some extra time, I’ll try to figure out the JQuery command, but I’m rusty in that language.

    Cheers, Dave

Yes – I thought that I had the close button in place on that mini calendar as well as the large calendar, but it looks like not. Thanks for noting this.

Joe, and what is the way to fix this?
Maybe not even by the close button like in the “big” version of calendar.
Can it somehow be closed just be clcking somewhere else except for the pop-up?

@triplemoons What is your actual problem? I can’t tell from the link you sent me.

Hey John, did you ever get that patch to help make closing the pop-ups easier?

I have the opposite problem. I have put the mini calendar on my site and when you click on a day that has an event, all you see if the red x to close it. How do I remove this from my calendar? I would rather not have it there at all.

I have an issue a little different. Once I open the event details my close button is HUGE and distorted. I also cannot read the details because the close button is so big. Any way to fix this?

I have two issues. The mini calendar is set to show on my home page and when you click on that page the event pop up shows and it can’t be closed. Also edit and delete event shows, even though permissions have been set to administrator only.
I’m an absolute newbie, so any help you can offer would be appreciated.
