[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] 404 Error when viewing any album or gallery

    I JUST downloaded Nextgen for use in a client’s website. It is a custom theme.

    The gallery plugin told me I was missing the wp-header and footer info, so I added that to the theme. It still cannot detect those tags.

    I can work in the admin panel fine. I can upload galleries and albums. However, when I go to “view” them on their linked page as a visitor to the site would, they do not show. I get a 404 error when I try to link to the gallery or albums direct URL.

    I disabled permalinks, then reinstalled the plugin and did not enable permalinks again. Still nothing.

    No images will show at all.

    Can anyone please tell me why this might be happening?

    Well, it wasn’t the permalinks. So since there is no solution I can find through googling, and no support from the developers, I had to abandon using Nextgen.
