I’m trying to create a photo gallery main page with subpages for each gallery, as follows:

    Photo Galleries [Page]
    –Gallery 1 [Page]
    –Gallery 2 [Page]
    –etc.

On the main page I want to do something like [album id=x template=extend], however, instead of the images bringing up the gallery directly, I’d like to link them to a subpage and do [nggallery id=x] there. I’ve tried using [singlepic] and [slideshow] instead, and I’ve tried wrapping the shortcodes in links but haven’t been able to do what I want.

Is there some way to do this with NextGEN, or a plugin that’ll do it for me?

Never mind. I just discovered the “Page Link to” setting.

However, “Page Link to” doesn’t work unless one first goes to Gallery – Options – Gallery tab and unchecks “Deactivate gallery page link”. That’s not at all obvious, and took me over an hour of googling to discover.

Maybe that could be made more obvious in some future version?
